Sunshine Coast lives up to its name with year-round warm climate. Its beaches are popular with tourists. This region includes Caloundra, Mooloolaba, Maroochydore and Noosa as cities centers.

Sunshine Coast rainfall varies considerably year-to-year, though it remains relatively low overall. October 23 to June 1 was typically dry while most wet days occurred during February.

Spring

Springtime on Sunshine Coast offers visitors a welcome escape from northern Australia’s cool temperatures and plenty of sunlight, with temperatures ranging between 13-25 degrees Celsius. Bushwalking or visiting parks like Mapleton Falls National Park, Glass House Mountains National Park or Noosa National Park should also be enjoyable at this time of year.

Sunshine Coast is an enjoyable vacation spot year-round, but the optimal time of year depends on what activities you wish to undertake. Summers tend to be warm, humid, and rainy while winters tend to be milder but still plenty sunny.

January is usually the warmest month, averaging between 82degF and 83degF; June, however, tends to experience temperatures between 66degF and 71degF.

Rainfall tends to be less prevalent during autumn and spring seasons, although it still occurs from time to time. But the sun remains out, making these months great times for hiking the Hinterland or visiting attractions like Australia Zoo.

Visit the Sunshine Coast between April and May for lower prices and smaller crowds, just prior to June and July school holidays, when prices can drop significantly and accommodations become more available at places like Noosa or Great Sandy National Park.

Winter

Tropical climates often feature extremes in temperature and humidity during summer, while cooler and drier winter conditions prevail due to monsoon season (October to April) when moist north-westerly winds blow in from the ocean, producing showers and thunderstorms; it is an integral feature of local weather patterns.

Although rain falls most commonly between June, July, and August, it’s still an ideal time to visit attractions like the Ginger Factory or Australia Zoo.

The Sunshine Coast lives up to its name no matter the time of year you visit; whether dining alfresco on the beach in winter, or enjoying its stunning hinterland which tends to be one or two degrees cooler than its coastal counterpart.
