Take a drive
The Sunshine Coast boasts stunning coastal and hinterland scenery. Discover waterfalls, rainforest vegetation and crystal-clear freshwater pools on the Kondalilla Falls circuit; or take in panoramic vistas while sitting at a picnic table at Porpoise Bay Provincial Park.
Children will love visiting SEA Life Sunshine Coast Aquarium, where they can get up-close-and-personal with seals while admiring rays and sharks in its incredible ocean tunnel. Also popular with kids is The Ginger Factory – an affordable highway stop attraction that’s great fun.
Un car rental makes driving along the coast easy, giving you freedom and flexibility as you discover each part of it at your own pace. From Langdale Ferry Terminal or Gibsons Marina, pick up your rental and start exploring!
Hike Mt Ngungun
Stride out into the Glass House Mountains National Park on a 2.8km trek and ascend Mount Ngungun – one of several volcanic peaks within. From its summit you’ll enjoy stunning panoramic views of both Coast and hinterland; visit during sunset for even greater awe-inspiring sights!
Head to Amaze World for a magical, secret garden filled with Lilly Pilly hedge mazes, puzzles, riddles and new augmented reality experiences – plus mini golf course and water play area! It makes an enjoyable day out for all members of the family (although children under 7 may not be recommended).
Go on a safari
The Sunshine Coast boasts stunning beaches that you just can’t stop taking photos of! Hike Mount Ngungun or swim at Noosa National Park’s shimmering beach waters; or go waterfall hunting in its hinterland for a more natural experience of lush rainforest valleys and crystal clear rock pools.
Visit Noosa Aquarium for up-close encounters with fur seal rescues or Australia Zoo to witness crocodiles, giraffes and zebras; for something different take the kids on a farm tour with Maleny Dairies to learn the journey that milk takes from farm to bottle!

Visit a community fair or farmers market
Sunshine Coast offers visitors many exciting attractions and unforgettable experiences, from Eumundi Markets – Australia’s largest outdoor markets – to swimming with Humpback Whales from July to October at Mooloolaba; something will appeal to every traveler on this coast.
Ride the Big Pineapple or go waterfall hunting in the hinterland. Gardeners Falls near Maroochydore and Kondalilla Falls offer picturesque strolls through rock pools, rainforest vegetation, and spectacular views – while Maleny Botanic Gardens feature subtropical plants like waterfalls, ponds, and aviaries. Take a dip
Noosa Everglades and Pumicestone Passage offer endless waterway activity – kayaking, Stand up paddle boarding and floating along protected Pumicestone Passage offer some incredible opportunities. Take a guided tour to view Noosa Everglades’ unique ecosystem from a unique vantage point; stand up paddle board through Noosa Everglades; SUP on Pumicestone Passage; stand up paddleboard around Pumicestone Passage or simply take a boat ride and discover Princess Louisa Inlet for yourself.
Noosa offers numerous popular beaches for surfing, with cafes such as New Earth Cafe or Daily Dose offering refreshments afterwards. Or sample its famous craft beer scene – many breweries can be found throughout Noosa and Maleny like Land & Sea Brewery and Brouhaha Brewery to visit!
