The Sunshine Coast is home to six fire departments. Four are under the umbrella of the Sunshine Coast Regional Council. All fire departments are volunteer and dedicated to providing high-quality emergency services. Sunshine Coast firefighters are available around the clock and respond to all types of emergencies – from fires to motor vehicle accidents. There are also more than 100 firefighters assigned to the Sunshine Coast firefighting effort, which includes the suppression of the fire. But what should residents of the Sunshine Coast do if a fire occurs?
The Sunshine Coast Fire Football Club was formed in 2007 by Noel Woodall. It now competes in the newly-formed Queensland State League. It has made its mark on the league, winning three of its games. The Sunshine Coast Fire has won the competition three times. The club also has two feeder clubs, Kawana and Maroochydore. Their supporters are divided between fans, players, and employees. To date, the club has played more than 500 games.
The upgrade in the fire risk will remind Sunshine Coast residents of the devastating fire season in 2019/2020. Westerly winds played a huge part in the dreadful fire season, which ravaged the region. It was especially bad in September, when the wind was particularly strong. Despite the threat of fire, the Sunshine Coast has a good chance of a dry season. The next firefighting mission is to contain the fire.
