The Best Dog Beaches on the Sunshine Coast
Family Law August 21, 2022, Comments OffThe Sunshine Coast is home to a number of wonderful dog beaches. If you want to bring your pooch to the beach, here are a few tips. These beaches are perfect for families with pets, as well as those without dogs. In addition to being a great place for your dog to spend time with you, these locations are also ideal for watching sunsets. Here’s a list of the most popular dog beaches on the Sunshine Coast.
During the past year, five dogs have died on the Sunshine Coast and dozens more have fallen ill. The Sunshine Coast Council and Animal Welfare Society have launched an investigation into the cause of the deaths and are working closely with local dog owners. The Animal Welfare Society said the toxin was not present in the water bowls of the dogs at the dog beach, but ruled out that they were the source of the toxin. Fortunately, the affected areas are located about two kilometers from the beach.
To prevent dogs from getting sick from poison bait, councils have placed baits around the area where dogs are allowed. They are placed near wild dogs and foxes. They are tied to stakes and checked every two or three kilometres by council officers and rangers. Dog owners are encouraged to keep their pooch on the leash when visiting these beaches. If you’re unsure of where to go, you can always consult with your local council.
If you’re looking for a dog-friendly beach on the Sunshine Coast, consider Point Cartwright. This beach is dog-friendly after 4pm. It’s north of the town of Buddina and is adjacent to the Mooloolah River. The RSPCA also encourages dog owners to call them if their dog becomes ill. They’re happy to help. Contact the Sunshine Coast RSPCA hotline at 130-animal for more information.
Point Cartwright in Buddina is another option for an off-leash dog beach. This beach is near Gulai Street and is patrolled. On the other hand, the entrance to the Mooloolah River allows dogs off-leash between 4pm and 8am. You can also go to La Balsa Park and let your pooch paddle on the beach. Dogs are also welcome at all patrolled beaches on the Sunshine Coast.
If you’re looking for a cafe or restaurant with a dog-friendly atmosphere, you might want to consider dining out in a dog-friendly area. Many dog-friendly establishments allow dogs in their outdoor dining areas, so make sure you check out Grind Cafe in Noosaville. Land & Sea Brewery in Noosaville also welcomes dogs. They’re open for lunch and dinner. They even have a picnic area for you to use when you visit.
Coolum Creek is another dog-friendly location. This park is located on the northern side of Coolum and features a dog beach and picnic areas. Both of these dog beaches have water bowls for your pooch. You can also enjoy lunch at this dog-friendly restaurant while watching the sunset or sunrise. The food is great and the staff is friendly and helpful. You can grab a meal for lunch or dinner right on the beach. This is an ideal location for families with dogs.
The Sunshine Coast offers plenty of dog-friendly parks. Although many are unfenced, the council has created a few fenced dog parks. The Brightwater Dog Park in Mooloolaba is one of the most popular and features double gates and plenty of shade. You can also find a dog agility course at Brightwater Dog Park. Another good place is Weyba Creek Park in Noosaville. It follows a creek and has picnic benches.
Another good place to bring your dog is Stumers Creek. This off-leash beach is located on the northern side of Coolum and is a popular destination for dog owners. It is near the Noosa National Park and is perfect for dogs. It is a great place to exercise dogs on a leash and explore the waters. There’s a dog wash station at Stumers Creek, so your pooch can get a fresh, clean bath while enjoying the beach.
Maleny Regional Bushland Botanic Garden is a popular destination for families with pets. The gardens are set in a lush tropical garden. You can take your dog inside the cottages, but be sure to keep them leashed and off the furniture. You can also request to have your dog walked by a knowledgeable guide. You can bring more than one pet, as there is no size limit. There’s also a small charge per pet.
