Leonie started collecting cans in local parks and eventually collected over one hundred thousand pieces. Containers for Change, Queensland‘s kerbside recycling scheme, has launched a new initiative called Partners for Change. It aims to encourage recycling of drink containers. Kawana Shoppingworld was the first shopping centre to join the initiative. Customers can recycle their drink containers at the centre and receive refunds. By donating their empty drink containers to this initiative, customers will be helping out a local charity.
