In addition to the expo, the University of the Sunshine Coast will host a campus open day. In addition to the prestigious ‘Green Gown’ award, the university’s research on Mary River erosion has earned the university the accolade of being a finalist for the 2016 Green Gown Awards Australasia. In addition, the researcher has been appointed Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering, and will use the role to encourage more women to pursue careers in scientific research.
