His latest outing was a second place finish in the G1 Novice Hurdle at Pinjarra in the state of Western Australia, and he was not on the list of contenders in this year’s big event.

Although he may be the keeper, he is not the only one with a hefty claim to fame. Indeed, the oldest surviving horse in the country is just a few years older than the last. That is not to say that he isn’t a top notch steed, just that the illustrious golden boy has had a rough time of it lately.

Caloundra Fashions on the Field competition is now open

There is a reason why Fashions on the Field has been around for more than half a century. In fact, it’s a stalwart in Australia’s fashion scene, not to mention its rich history in horse racing. With that in mind, it’s no surprise that Fashions on the Field is an eminently stylish event for fashionistas of all ages. As such, it’s not surprising that the competition draws entries from across the country. It’s also no surprise that the competition is a veritable goldmine of prize money. Some of the best prizes around include a $5000 prize pool for the winner and an additional $250 in prize money for the runners up.

The competition is also a showcase for some of Australia’s top designers. For instance, in the women’s wear division, the likes of Judy Rossinger and Ainslie McGuinty, who have both made a name for themselves in the couture department.

Turf track at Corbould Park Racecourse

Corbould Park Racecourse is one of Australia’s finest thoroughbred racing facilities. It is located just north of Brisbane, near Caloundra. Visiting the racecourse would be a great experience.

The racecourse is also the home of the Sunshine Coast Guineas, a Group 3 Thoroughbred horse race held in early July. In addition to that, the venue is also used for the Queensland Winter Racing Carnival, a series of races held in January and February.

Corbould Park is one of the busiest training centres in Queensland. A total of 70 trainers are registered at the racecourse. With over 400 horses using the tracks daily, it is one of the biggest training centres in the state.

The racecourse is one of the few racecourses that offers approved night racing. If you visit the track during the wet season, you can expect heavy rainfall.

Winx Guineas for three-year-olds

The Winx Guineas is a Group 3 Thoroughbred horse race for three-year-olds. This race has a total prize pool of $200,000. It is run at the Sunshine Coast Turf Club on Caloundra Cup Day.

Winners of the Winx Guineas have included Majestic Colour, who won four straight races. Tarex and Rayjen also took home the prize.

There are plenty of other contenders for the Winx Guineas in 2022. Among them is the Bjorn Baker-trained Battleton. If Battleton can win, it would mark the first win for the stable since the Gunsynd Classic in May.

Another runner is the Zoustar gelding. The Zoustar gelding has been running against similar company in Brisbane for the past two preps, finishing fifth in the Coolmore Stud Stakes. He has an ideal barrier four draw.
