Landsborough Hotel Caloundra Cup (2400m), won last by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace’s stable runner Le Don De Vie, is the flagship event. A quality handicap under set weight conditions, it draws spectators from throughout Queensland.

The Sunshine Coast Racecourse covers an area of 1967m and features long, open angled bends which allow horses to come from behind and have been the site of many thrilling finishes. Furthermore, its cushion track is unique to Australia and helps reduce impact upon gallopers tendons and ligaments during galloping races.

2. Friday Night Racing

If you enjoy fast-paced racing action, Friday Night Racing may be for you. Held each Friday evening during summer months at Sunshine Coast Stadium, this fast-paced event provides thrilling race action as well as music and beverage gardens for spectators to enjoy. Come experience world-class competitors under bright lights.

This track, located 89km north of Brisbane, first hosted its inaugural race meet in July 1985 and remains one of the few venues across Australia that allows approved night meetings during summer nights.

This track boasts a circumference of 1967m and features long, open angled bends to give backmarkers the opportunity to come from behind and win. There’s also a 400m straight that allows spectators to cheer home their thoroughbred champions. Furthermore, this venue is known for being the first one in Queensland with an innovative fully synthetic track known as “Cushion Track”, allowing water to drain vertically through it and avoid washes, erosion or track damage.

3. The Max Adventure Race

If you’re searching for something beyond just another trail run, Royal National Park provides the ideal backdrop. They have both Classic and Novice courses available so it will ensure an experience unlike any other!

This event serves as an introduction to adventure racing; an off-road version of triathlon. Competitors in teams of two must navigate their way around a course using maps and compasses in order to collect checkpoints along the route; unlike many relay events, both team members must complete all three disciplines during one race!

Sunshine Coast racecourse was the first major track in Queensland to adopt a fully synthetic surface known as “cushion track”. Its long, angled bends allow back markers to make up ground while its sixm fall and rise will test all runners’ stamina.

4. The Caloundra City Cup

The 2400m Staying Event on the Sunshine Coast features an exceptional lineup of in-form winter stayers, such as last week’s Ipswich Cup runner-up Regal Lion for Chris Waller, Kris Lees’ topweight Luncies up in grade and Zoumon from Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott.

Mooloolaba track boasts an expansive circumference of 1967m and features long open angled bends to allow backmarkers a chance to close in on leaders. While the course offers beautiful sights during daylight hours, its night-time splendour with its 960 lights and 40 towers transforms it into an exciting racing spectacle.
